Empowering Girls for a Brighter Tomorrow.
In the heart of the bustling city of Hyderabad, where the cacophony of life echoes in every corner, lies an oasis of hope and resilience – the Society for Rural Development Child Care Institution. It’s a sanctuary for young girls from disadvantaged backgrounds, victims of domestic abuse, sexual harassment, and those who have been abandoned and disowned. These girls are not just the beneficiaries of our initiative, but they are the ones who inspire us every day, their stories of courage and determination are the reason we exist.
The journey began in 2019, fuelled by the vision to create a world where every girl has the opportunity to live a life of dignity, free from exploitation and fear. We saw the suffering and the struggles these young girls faced, and we knew something had to be done. We wanted to create a haven where they could heal, grow, and thrive.
Our mission has always been to establish and administer services in the Child Care Institution that cater to the holistic needs of these girls until they are empowered to take care of themselves and live independently. But our dream is even bigger. We want this institution to sustain itself through community participation and resources. We envision a world where the community takes full ownership of the Child Care Institution, a testament to our belief in the power of collective action and shared responsibility.
Each step we take brings us closer to that dream. From identifying and obtaining suitable government premises to run the institution, to maintaining cordial relationships in the community for a steady flow of resources, every action is guided by our mission. The result is a thriving Child Care Institution in Kolsewadi, Chudi Bazaar region, housed in a government girls primary school.
But the journey doesn’t stop there. We’re now setting our sights on Secunderabad. We plan to set up another home for the girls here, a testament to our commitment to reach out to as many girls in need as possible. We have laid out clear milestones to guide our journey. From obtaining the government premises by November 2023 to the beautification and repair work by December 2023, we have a concrete plan in place. Our goal is to welcome our girls into their new home by the start of the academic year in June 2024.
As we continue to move forward, the impact we see is a source of tremendous pride and motivation. We see girls who came to us as victims, transform into confident, self-assured young women. They are not just beneficiaries; they are an integral part of our family. They take ownership of their growth, guide other girls, and form sister groups to strengthen their bond.
We are helping them climb the steps of Abraham Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, ensuring their safety, instilling a sense of belonging, fostering their self-esteem, and ultimately, guiding them towards self-actualization. They form cordial relationships with the staff who care for them as their own children, and they find a home where they feel valued and loved.
Your contribution can make a world of difference to these girls. It can provide them with the security and opportunities they need to grow, flourish, and chart their own path. It can help transform a life, and in the process, transform our society. We invite you to join us in this journey of empowerment and change, to create a world where every girl has a chance to live a life of dignity and freedom.
